Care
How to care for your cashmere yarn
The right care
As exceptionally fine fibres, cashmere yarns and knitwear need the
right care to stay soft and keep their shape. But don’t worry – the guidelines below are easy to follow and will help you enjoy your cashmere knits for a lifetime.
Washing
Your cashmere is washable. The best way is a cold wool cycle in the washing machine, which cleans this sensitive material gently. For stubborn stains we recommend dabbing a little hair shampoo onto the spot before washing.
Drying
Afterwards, dry your cashmere flat on a towel rather than hanging it up. That way your piece will not lose its shape. Once dry, cashmere can be smoothed with steam for a clean finish. To keep its fit, store it lying flat wherever possible.
Combing
At first, small bobbles may form on your cashmere knitwear – known as pilling. These are the shortest cashmere hairs, and they are easily removed with a pilling comb. It releases the individual tangled fibres, leaving no residue and without affecting the soft handle of your cashmere.
